This is a goal directed and structured teaching social programs with holistic skill-building curriculum designed for the adult trainees with developmental disability. By adopting Structured Teaching Approach, the trainees will learn independent living skills and enrich their daily living. Eight learning components will be adopted.
A Group Living Adaptation Program will be provided annually to support trainees with developmental disability to adapt a group living setting with application of all the learned classroom skills into real context for 6 hours a day.
This program provides a space for youths with developmental disability (low-support needs) to connect in a safe social environment every Saturday from 2-4 pm. The program consists of a variety of social activities including crafts, board games, sharing circles, topical discussions, and career/life planning. The goal is to allow youth to find a sense of belonging and have a safe space to discuss life’s joys, challenges, and dreams with peers who are all going through the same thing!
In this program, our teachers take an active role in creating individualized training plans that guide children in reaching important developmental milestones. Our program embraces structured teaching methods, ensuring a comprehensive and integrated learning experience across all eight essential components. By implementing this approach, we empower children to thrive and succeed in their overall development.
