Management Team

Kyoko Leung - RSW, BSW, MSc in Marketing

Executive Director

Kyoko, a dedicated Registered Social Worker, holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Hong Kong and a Master’s degree in Marketing from Ireland. With over 20 years of social work experience, she wholeheartedly serves individuals with developmental disabilities. Kyoko’s expertise encompasses operating various adult and children services, including adult day activity centers, shelter workshops, and special child care centers for preschoolers. She has demonstrated outstanding performance and vision in roles such as front-line management in a special child care center, overseeing regional projects, and collaborating with the government. Recognized for her accomplishments, she was promoted to the position of General Manager, leading self-financed services for children with disability.

Joining Cherish Integrated Services in 2018 as a Program Officer, Kyoko quickly advanced to become the Program Director, overseeing new projects and service coordination. After a brief break, she returned to Cherish in 2021 as the Executive Director, succeeding the late founder, Annie Leung. Kyoko’s dedication and commitment to serving individuals with developmental disabilities make her profoundly knowledgeable and visionary in meeting their needs, as well as those of their families and the community. She passionately enhances their quality of life, provides choices and opportunities, and promotes their limitless potential and uniqueness. Kyoko expresses gratitude for Annie’s trust and nourishment in Cherish, remaining steadfast in continuing her mission and legacy to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities.55

Esther Ching - MSW, BSW, RSW

Service Manager

Esther brings over 5 years of experience in directing children’s summer camps, youth work, and professional counselling to Cherish. She holds a Masters in Social Work and Bachelor in Social Work degree in Canada. Driven by a passion for social justice and community development, Esther actively supports the growth of Cherish. Esther joined our team back in 2018. She has progressively taken on management responsibilities, including intakes, fundraising, partnerships, and resource exploration for initiatives and special projects. Esther advocates for the needs of each trainee and the organization while innovating new programs and projects to enhance the well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities. As Service Manager, she oversees new project management, volunteer coordination, fundraising, and service liaison.

Connie Lau - BEd, MEd

Program Supervisor

With over 20 years of teaching experience in the educational field for students with developmental disabilities, Connie brings a wealth of knowledge. She completed a Bachelor of Education, Master of Education, and a Certificate Course for Teachers of Children with Special Educational Needs in Hong Kong. Applying her knowledge and teaching skills effectively, Connie addresses the unique needs of each student. Her mission is to develop the talents of her students. In addition, she commits to providing quality structured teaching programs for the adults’ Daily Living Enrichment Program and the children’s Personal Growth Enhancement program at Cherish. As a Program Supervisor, Connie guides the training team and ensures the quality of training programs for both adults and children with developmental disabilities. Her role is characterized by enthusiasm, dedication, and professionalism.

Program Officers

Andrea Rochow - DSW

Andrea, a Developmental Services Worker (DSW), brings extensive experience supporting individuals with diverse abilities in residential, clinical, and community settings. Her previous role as a Mental Health Nurse in Forensic Psychiatry ignited her passion for advocating for the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities and promoting their overall well-being. With a genuine love and compassion for people of all ages, cultures, and abilities, Andrea’s hobbies span a wide range of interests, from arts and sports to cooking, travel, and immersing herself in nature.

Charles Kan - RSW, BSW

Charles, a Registered Social Worker with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Hong Kong, now holds the same registration in Ontario, Canada. With over 2 years of volunteering experience in social community service and over 3 years of working with children and youth with Special Educational Needs, Charles brings a wealth of expertise to Cherish. In his role as a Program Officer, he oversees the Daily Living Enrichment social program, provides one-on-one Personal Growth Enhancement service for trainees requiring intensive emotional and behavioral support, and facilitates the Youth Connect social program.

Known for his considerate nature, organizational skills, and innovative approach, Charles is dedicated to empowering trainees in developing independent living skills, effective stress management techniques, proficient communication strategies, and strong social skills.

Rain Lo

Rain, a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from Hong Kong.  She is an experienced and passionate worker with over 7 years of frontline experience in social services. 

Throughout her career, Rain has worked with various groups including seniors, sexual minorities, ex-offenders, and youth. 

She is dedicated to creating a supportive and empowering environment where disabled individuals can thrive and reach their full potential.

Kenisha Wint - BEd MEd

Kenisha Wint, an OCT teacher with the York Region District School Board, brings a wealth of expertise to her role. With a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, a Degree in Child Development, a Graduate Certification in Special Education for Children with Autism and Disabilities, and a Master’s degree in Education, Kenisha has honed her skills over 15 years of working closely with children with Autism and other disabilities. Her experience spans school settings and personal one-on-one therapy in children’s homes, providing invaluable support. Since the summer of 2018, Kenisha has been an integral part of the Cherish team as a dedicated Personal Growth and Enhancement Programmer.

Maisie Lung

Maisie, who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Children, Childhood and Youth, and a Bachelor of Education, has been an integral part of the Cherish team since 2020. In her role, she actively engages with children and adult trainees in group settings, while also contributing to the Personal Growth and Enhancement Program. With over 5 years of experience working with children in camp and school settings, Maisie is dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for individuals of all backgrounds.

Monica Ho

Monica brings a deep passion for social services and a wealth of experience across various fields, including working with children, teenagers, the elderly, and the visually impaired. With a track record of organizing innovative projects and developing psycho-social-spiritual care programs in both profit and non-profit organizations, Monica’s expertise is extensive. Since joining the Cherish team in 2022, her caring and kind-hearted nature has made a significant impact. Monica’s ultimate goal is to create a nurturing environment where individuals with developmental disabilities can thrive and unlock their full potential.

Nelson Li - BSW, MA in Social Service Management

Mr. Li holds a Master of Arts in Social Service Management and a Bachelor of Social Work, and he has been a Registered Social Worker in Hong Kong since 1998. With over 30 years of frontline and supervisory experience in social services, including support for older people, youths, the visually impaired, and people with mental disabilities, Nelson brings a wealth of expertise. Having joined Cherish Integrated Services in 2022 as a Program Officer, he is responsible for the Daily Living Enrichment Program for adults with developmental disabilities. Nelson’s mission is to enrich lives, foster uniqueness, and create a nurturing environment for personal growth.

Pasty Ho

Patsy, a Registered Social Worker in Hong Kong and a graduate of Hong Kong Metropolitan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, is a dedicated social worker with over 8 years of experience working with seniors and individuals with disabilities. Her goal in serving people with developmental disabilities is to create a loving and inclusive environment where trainees can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Sin Sze Chan

Through 5 years of volunteering at a camp for families with children with special needs, Sin Sze discovered her passion for serving this community. She utilizes her diverse skills and knowledge to support individuals with developmental disabilities, while also gaining insights into their unique perspectives. Sin Sze contributes to Cherish’s promotional work through photography and graphic design, and she leads the Saturday Social Club program, aimed at enhancing interpersonal skills and independence among the trainees.

Simon Chu

Simon has a great passion for social services and four years of experience as a program worker in Hong Kong to lead and design programs for seniors. Simon possesses expertise in healthy lifestyle enrichment, community integration, and stakeholder collaboration with the mission of improving people’s lives and empowering individuals and communities. Since 2023, Simon has been responsible for the Daily Living Enrichment social program and one-on-one Personal Growth Enhancement service as a program officer at Cherish Integrated Services.

Stanley Ng - BA in Business, HD in Textile Technology

Stanley holds a Higher Diploma in Textiles Technology from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business from South Australia University. With over 5 years of experience volunteering in social community programs, including event coordination and sports competitions, Stanley is passionate about community services and dedicated to improving the daily living skills and quality of life for individuals with special needs. He firmly believes in the unique potential and worth of each person and strives to empower them to live to their fullest potential with dignity. Since joining Cherish Integrated Services in 2018 as a Program Officer, Stanley has been responsible for the Daily Living Enrichment Program for adults with developmental disabilities.

Vania Wong - ECE, ECI

Vania has dedicated 15 years to working with children with special needs, having received education in both England and Canada. Trained in recreational therapy, specializing in adaptive swimming for children, as well as music and art therapy for both geriatric and pediatric wellness during her studies in the UK, Vania is enthusiastic and committed to providing quality learning and life skills-building programs tailored to individuals’ needs. Her passion extends to volunteering in various social services, rehabilitation centers, and hospitals.

Huda Khan - Child and Youth Program Officer

Huda graduated with a diploma in Social Service Work from Centennial College and has gained valuable experience through various professional roles and volunteer work. She utilizes her diverse background to make a positive impact in her current position. With a strong enthusiasm for assisting others and helping them unlock their full potential, Huda is dedicated to supporting individuals in reaching their greatest heights.

Myra Law - Administration Officer

Myra holds an MBA degree from the University of Hong Kong and brings over 20 years of experience in the business sector. With excellent communication skills and a passion for helping those in need, she joined Cherish in 2022. Myra contributes her expertise to organizing administrative tasks and marketing events, aiming to create a home-like environment for both learners and staff members at Cherish.

Jessica Siu - Accoutting Officer

Jessica is a seasoned accounting professional with over 10 years of experience. Driven by a commitment to community service and a passion for assisting those in need, she plays a vital role at Cherish. Jessica supports the staff in creating a warm and inclusive environment for trainees, utilizing her expertise to foster an atmosphere that promotes inclusivity and enhances the overall program experience.

Sandy Cheng - M.A., Speech-Language Pathologist, Reg. CASLPO

Sandy is an experienced Speech Language Pathologist registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). 

She attended the National Taiwan Normal University where she completed a Bachelor’s degree with a Teacher Certificate in 1982.  She worked as a teacher for 3 years and continued her master degree in Communicative Disorders at the University of Tennessee, USA.  She obtained her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 1987 and has been practicing as a speech-language pathologist since then.  

After working in Hong Kong for 9 years as an SLP, in 1995 Sandy and her family moved to Toronto where she continued to practice as an SLP,  mainly with the pediatric population (first at the York Central Hospital, then with the Toronto Preschool Speech and Language Program till August 2023).  

Sandy is Hanen certified in It Takes Two To Talk®, Target Word™ , You Make the Difference® , and More Than Words® parent education programs as well as in Learning Language and Loving It™ for early childhood educators. She is a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic clinician skilled at providing family-centered, individualized and motivating intervention plans so that children can achieve their optimal communication potential.  Her expertise includes empowering parents to support their children’s communication development, identifying and treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and treating children with a variety of speech and language difficulties, which include receptive and expressive language delays/impairments, articulation delays, motor speech disorders, as well as play and social communication difficulties.   

In her free time, Sandy enjoys gardening.  She is also actively involved in family growth groups, focusing on parent-child relationship, at church.

Yvonne Lai - Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

B.Sc. (Speech & Hearing Sciences)

Yvonne is a member of the Register of Speech Therapists accredited by the Department of Health of Hong Kong, and The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists (HKAST).

She obtained her qualification from Hong Kong and has been practicing as a Speech Language Pathologist since 1992, focusing mainly on the pediatric population. With over 28 years of frontline and supervisory experience in Hong Kong, Yvonne is a competent clinician who is committed to serving individuals with speech and language challenges.

Yvonne is certified to lead the evidence-based Hanen Program ® It Takes two to Talk ® and More Than Words Program ® for parents and Learning Language and Loving It ® for early childhood educators. Yvonne’s passion has driven her to equip herself with different training approaches/models such as DIRFloortime ® , SCERTS ® , TEACCH ® , etc.

Her expertise includes maximizing the communication skills of children with autism spectrum disorders, facilitating language development of late talkers, identifying and treating children with different speech and language difficulties. Apart from promoting children’s communication skills, Yvonne is eager to train parents with practical language facilitating strategies so that they can be the language teachers at home. While in Hong Kong, Yvonne was responsible for managerial and supervisory work, developing new services as well as managing resources. Having understood the importance of knowledge transfer, Yvonne shared her extensive experience by participating in the publication of Chinese resources such as SCERTS Model Activity Guide, Enjoying Floortime: Social Interaction Training Package, The Training Package for Autistic Children, etc.
